At Green Lanes Pharmacy, we dispense both NHS and private prescriptions and supply medicines and appliances. We also offer Medicine Use Review, New Medicine Service and Inhaler technique Service to make sure that you can get the most benefit from your medicines and appliances. Our systems keep records of what we supply to our customers so, when you bring in a prescription, we can advise you whether you can safely take a medicine together with any other(s) you may be currently taking. All medicines are appropriately labelled to remind you about precautions such as avoiding alcohol and not driving if you feel drowsy.
In England, all NHS prescription items are priced at £9.15; this means that each individual item on a prescription – and not the total prescription itself – costs £9.15. If you are picking up two or more prescription items per month, you can save money on your NHS prescriptions by ordering a Prescription Prepayment Certificate (PPC). The PPC is a prepaid card that lets you collect as many prescriptions as you require over a set period of three or 12 months. In Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, NHS prescriptions are free.

In the UK, everybody is entitled to free healthcare via the NHS. There are, however, certain circumstances under which charges are attached to NHS medical treatments. Many patients opt to use private healthcare.
The cost of a private prescription is calculated depending upon what the medication is, and what kind of service you are using.
Certain private prescription services work by issuing you with a private prescription via a face-to-face appointment or online consultation with a doctor (for a fee), which you can then take to the pharmacy to have dispensed.
Because the prescription is private, you will have to pay for your medication and it will not be charged at the NHS fee of £9.15. The good news is that, because the NHS rate is fixed, certain types of medication will work out cheaper when purchased privately.
Other private prescription services work by issuing prescription medication directly online. Instead of going to an appointment, or applying for a prescription online, you simply order the medication you need. To ensure that you can take your prescription medication safely, you will be required to fill out a short questionnaire (the online equivalent of the talk you would have with your GP in person) which can be assessed by a doctor. With this type of service, the cost of the medication incorporates the administrative fee and dispensing fee (and often delivery as well).
We offer a Prescription Collection and Delivery service; all you need to do is authorise Green Lanes Pharmacy to order your medication on contact from yourself or your representative and to collect your prescription from your surgery. You may also allow us to keep your repeat slip to order your medication automatically at the required interval and collect your prescription from your surgery, either in person or by means of electronic transfer.
Let us know which repeat prescription medicines you need, a few days before they run out, and we will collect the prescription from your Doctor’s surgery, dispense your medicines and keep them ready for collection. We can also deliver within the local community and neighbouring areas. You may come to our pharmacy for more details and speak to a member of staff. You are also welcome to call us on 020 8350 8350
Green Lanes Pharmacy is already equipped with computers and systems that are capable of handling Electronic Prescriptions.
We are asking our customers to sign a Nomination Form that will allow Green Lanes Pharmacy to obtain their Electronic Prescriptions from their surgery, in accordance with the NHS Electronic Prescription Service.
Patients will normally be asked to nominate just one pharmacy for their prescriptions to be sent to and dispensed rather than a variety of pharmacies. Green Lanes Pharmacy is already equipped with computers and systems that are capable of handling Electronic Prescriptions. When visiting a pharmacy or your surgery, look out for the symbol shown in the image displayed here, which identifies where the NHS Electronic Prescription Service is being used.
You can Register with us, on this website, and manage your Repeat Prescriptions online… It is simple, quick and secure… You can create your own username and password to access your own session within our website and send us Repeat Requests of your prescription medication(s). This simple process will save you a journey to your surgery or pharmacy. Once we receive your Repeat Request, we dispense your medicines and keep them ready for collection. We can also deliver within the local community and neighbouring areas.
